Sydney, Australia
The site is situated in a new urban development in Darling Harbour, planned as a community space for the neighbouring residential blocks and offices. We wanted to create an iconic building which can merge with the landscape using timber as the primary material.
The circular architectural form acts as a node so that it would be accessible and recognisable from all directions, promoting an active and vibrant neighbourhood. It is our intent to express the architecture as a part of nature, like a nest in a playful and primitive manner.
